Joint crepitation classification

Joint crepitation, creaking cracking or a grinding feeling may be graded as follows, according to the AMA impairment guidelines:

Joint crepitation
Mild	Inconstant during active range of motion
Moderate	Constant during active range of motion
Severe	Constant during passive range of motion
